Lograr un producto fabricado a partir de semi elaborados y de bajo costo de producción, para ser usado como materia prima en la fabricación de enduidos.

STAGES

  • Some formulations were tested on pilot plant, changing the raw material, the form of adding them and agitation time.
  • Once it was found a formulation with good outcome it was tested on the plant.
  • The formula was adjusted, obtaining a stable product in time and with the desire characteristics.

CONCLUSION

  • It was obtained a calcium carbonate suspension with a < 2 µm between 20 and 30%, a viscosity in the order of 1000 cp and a % of solids of approximate 75%. This product will facilitate the production process, restricting the fabricant to add little materials so as to have it finished. This will cause a reduction of the process time and a simplification of it.

Microcalc 2

OBJECTIVE

Achieve a powder with a medium diameter of 2 µm y un <2µm of 50%
with optimum levels of white.

STAGES

  • Different raw materials were tested for the product, founding the optimum in terms of whitening levels, oil absorption and abrasiveness. The samples were analyzed on an external laboratory, obtaining as result that the product does not possess contamination of other minerals, it’s a 100% calcium carbonate product. This means, it does not possess other type of material that can generate brightness or opacities in the finish product.

CONCLUSION

  • We achieved a micronized product with the proposed granulometry, fabricated with a 100% of calcium carbonate. It presents as advantages lower level of yellow, lower abrasiveness and lower absorption of oils compared with other products with similar characteristics. All of this, allows our customers to obtain a better color, it decreases the wear of the machines and the consumption of other raw materials.
